Tim Bassett has been working with glass for over 20 years and has studied with some of Australia’s leading glassblowers. He has also undertaken intensive courses in specialised glass techniques and lighting design both in Australia and overseas.
His work is in private collections in Australia, Japan, New Zealand, USA and UK, as well as the collection of Dr Norris Ioannou, author of several books on contemporary glass and ceramics.
The Australian National Art Glass Collection acquired Tim’s work on 2007 and again in 2009 and has been short listed for the prestigious Ranamok Prize for Contemporary Glass. He has been the recipient of an Ian Potter Cultural Trust Grant.
Tim’s work ranges from simple and elegant vessels, custom lighting and chandeliers, to sublime explosions of coloured glass in large-scale installations.
Tim loves to experiment with form, colour and technique, his work as a glass blower is constantly changing and evolving.
