Stonehouse 50th Anniversary
Stonehouse Members ongoing |
In 1972 eight potters, after much searching for a venue to sell their work from, commenced business in Warrandyte at the old historic stone building The Selby Store.
The group grew over the years and Stonehouse became a well known and loved diversified arts and crafts Gallery. After 34 years at the Selby store, the gallery moved to the newly renovated historic Gospel Chapel a perfect spacious light filled venue to showcase the diversity of art and craft by Stonehouse members, local artisans and where the gallery has continued to blossom in the main street of Warrandyte. Over the past 50 years Stonehouse has involved 50 artists in the running of the gallery and has supported many local and Australian makers and artists. To celebrate this 50th milestone, the gallery has launched a book on the history of Stonehouse and has on going current members work on exhibit. We welcome you to visit us for this historic achievement. Stonehouse gallery extends a warm welcome to our visitors to celebrate our 50th year of trading in Warrandyte and support local and Australian Arts and Crafts. Stonehouse is one of the oldest artist group run galleries in Australia. |
